2011 One Fly - Fletcher's Start

The 2011 One Fly Has Begun. Here is Fletcher's report from last night.

If you ever want to test your skill, go fishing for a whole day but, just bring one fly. It is a hilarious exercise in frustration.

I sit in my garage trying to figure out which one of the 5 different patterns I will fish tomorrow, I can’t believe that this is my 12th year fishing this event. My team, the West Yell0ow Stone Lip Rippers has been trying to figure out if the size 16 sulpher will catch more big scoreable fish than the size 10 wingless stone fly!!#!

Tomorrow I fish the Upper South Fork of the Snake River with Guide Kasey Collins who is a masterful guide. I will let everyone know how it goes at the end of the day and what fly I choose to spend the day with.

Even with all the pain and suffering, I cannot get enough of this tournament, the people, and what it does for the sport of trout fishing.

Best New Rod. Best Price to Performance. Orvis Access

You need this Rod. The new Access from Orvis.
Why?
Because you do not have to pay top prices for remarkable lightweight performance.

This design is based on Helios tapers and actions ($800) and offers carbon-based composite blanks impregnated with a new epoxy-based resin system for a stronger composite. This is a proprietary new Orvis material demonstrating an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio – the rods are even lighter than some higher-priced models. It has an amazing performance-to-price ratio unheard of in the industry. Everyone in our office has bought one! $350 on  ProGuideDirect.com

Fletcher Catches a Tarpon  Check out the linked video of Fletcher landing a Tarpon with the new Access Rod. Rumor has it he landed this with an 80’ back-cast! Fish tale? We don’t think so.
