You need this Rod. The new Access from Orvis.
Why?
Because you do not have to pay top prices for remarkable lightweight performance.
This design is based on Helios tapers and actions ($800) and offers carbon-based composite blanks impregnated with a new epoxy-based resin system for a stronger composite. This is a proprietary new Orvis material demonstrating an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio – the rods are even lighter than some higher-priced models. It has an amazing performance-to-price ratio unheard of in the industry. Everyone in our office has bought one! $350 on ProGuideDirect.com
Fletcher Catches a Tarpon Check out the linked video of Fletcher landing a Tarpon with the new Access Rod. Rumor has it he landed this with an 80’ back-cast! Fish tale? We don’t think so.

Fished the 10' 5wt out of the boat the other day and it is everything they say it is. fast, accurate, easy to redirect your cast and change distances.
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend, Kathleen Belk, fished with the new Access rod and reel last weekend on the headwaters of the Green River and landed a fat 20 inch rainbow. The rod casts beautifully and is impressively accurate. I highly recommend the Access. You will be hard pressed to find better quality at that price. I also recommend Ariat boots. I wear mine almost everyday. They are the most comfortable and functional riding boots I have ever owned.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter, Quincy, caught her first fish this weekend in GTNP on the 10' 4-weight Access. She casted, set the hook, reeled and released 9 beautiful Brookies on an Elk Hair Caddis--that's one more fish than her age! The 4-piece rod's case easily strapped on to my hydration pack, too. What a great day!
